We decided to organize a workshop to enhance dialogue, ideas pooling and common understanding among European youth and Tunisian ones, to promote further discussions and focuses on the topic of social development and democratization.
The event will be organized by the Devco Stagiaires which belong to the Stage Committee of the European Commission. A task force of highly motivated and talented people is already working hard for fundraising and planning the event, getting in touch with Universities, Youth groups, EC Delegations, International Organizations, academics and journalists.
The Workshop
The workshop will be one day of full immersion in intercultural dialogue among young Europeans and Tunisian youth who participated to the Arab Spring. The event is being organized in collaboration with the International Organizations delegations and different Universities in order to both provide motivated youth with an advanced knowledge of the dynamics of the Arab Spring movement and to promote an interesting discussion on the topic.
The event will be the first of many following ones and we will do our best to organize it to become an example and a key stone for the process of EU-North African youth discussions about the topic.
We already contacted many illustrious speakers who showed high interest in the event.

The Delegation and the Projects
The group of Devco Stagiaires also aims at learning how the EU institutions contribute to support democracy in the countries of the Arab Spring. This will be done through an organised visit and talk with the European Union Delegation in Tunis. As European Commission trainees we could very easily contact the delegation and had their immediate support. The precise organisation of the meeting with the delegation is already well under way.
Similarly, going to visit projects supporting democracy directly seemed a compulsory component of the trip. The organising group is in touch with the EU Delegation and various local Civil Society Organisations (CSO) in order to arrange visits to projects, both in Tunis and outside. This will allow the learning experience to be complete.
